It all started with a simple reason to stay in touch .....
After finishing my High-School, all I wanted was to stay in touch with those who will not be with me forever. I was'nt into social networking sites till then. I was more than happy with the socializing I did . Least had I cared about being social virtually. I was happy with the world around....
But then one of my friends told me what a great site orkut was and "It was the thing". Till then I didn't even have an e-mail id. to support my contact on a peice of paper . So I went to the near by cyber- cafe and made my way through www.orkut.com after getting my e-mail id . After creating a rather boring profile with a profile pic of pikachu ....I was virtually born. .
It wasn't of much interest to me till I was flooded with friend request from known and unknown both. I know this may sound stupid but when you see that "people want to be friends with you" there comes an inexplicable satisfaction with a smile . Soon the money spent on cafe piled up every week .The reasons told for visiting the cafe were "the most stupid reasons" now that i think of them. Soon I was an active social net worker. I had a check at my profile every week. But then came www.facebook.com .
This social networking site did infact "change the way i wasted my time". Orkut was soon fading away, and Facebook was there all over. The no. of friends grew from 1 to over 800+ within a few period. Soon there was a constant urge to check my profile every now and then.. And then at one point of time, I had this constant urge to visit facebook once in atleast 3 hours. And soon I was what you people call a facebook addict .
